brandon block |
|
Surprisingly enough Brandon's career started in 1985 at his local boozer, The John Lyon in Harrow west London when one night the DJ there didn't show!, Brandon and his then DJ partner Ali Jobe asked the gaffa if they could bring their records down and do it. They were so good that the resident DJ was fired. In fact it got so popular that they started charging an entrance fee. After grabbing guest slots all around London in 1990 Brandon packed his records and £500 and moved to Ibiza. Fast forward to 2001 and Brandon was as much a part of the Balearic scenery as Pikes, Manumission and the puke in the streets of San An!
Block under the name Blockster has had two hits in the UK Singles Chart; You Should Be... (a remix of You Should Be Dancing by the Bee Gees) reached number 3 in the chart in 1999, and Grooveline reached number 18 in July 1999. |

graeme park |

Graeme Park: 15 years on the radio, 25 years on the decks.
The story of DJ Graeme Park really mirrors the story of the evolution of dance music and club culture itself. Graeme found himself working in a Nottingham record shop called Select-A-Disc in the early 1980s, when the very first house records began to filter through from Chicago, Detroit and New York. When the shop's owner also opened a nightclub, it was only natural he should turn to Graeme to select the discs. Determined to showcase this new style of music, his reputation as a house pioneer soon brought him to the attention of Mike Pickering at the Hacienda in Manchester, who asked him to cover for him whilst he went on holiday in 1988. Simply put, there was no-one else in the country who could do the job. The Summer of Love followed, and Parky quickly became one of the biggest names on the emerging dance scene. Aside from his eight-year residency at the Hac, he was the first British DJ to play places like Australia, South America, the USA, Asia and beyond as well as producing and remixing tracks for the dancefloor. |

allister whitehead |
 |
Allister Whitehead began his DJing career way back in 1987 at the tender age of 17. Starting out in his hometown of Nottingham, Allister took up a residency at the Koolkat, where he often played next to the ubiquitous Graeme Park on Saturday nights. His big break came when he covered a spot at the Hacienda, standing in for Mike Pickering of M People. On the strength of this one night alone, he began his new residency.
He achieved cult status at the Golden (he was actually the first guest DJ they had ever booked), which was voted cub of the year in 1993. Yet another residency swiftly followed, at Cream, where Allister found his largest following yet. His national status was further cemented with regular spots at Ministry of Sound, Gatecrasher, and just about every club in between.
He was truly established as a household name worldwide with the Gold selling Fantazia album 'The House Collection 3' which was then, the biggest selling DJ compilation ever.
Nowadays Allister is undisputedly one of the UK's most prolific House DJs. |
